Excitement and rock music filled the air Tuesday, March 3 on the Yuba College campus as the band Nu-Clear played for the students. The band set up outside near the theater, right in the middle of campus. Squeals of excitement could be heard over the mariachi band as students, faculty and invited guests took part in a Cinco de Mayo celebration at the Marysville campus, Thursday, May 5 from 10:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Red, white and green balloons and flags shone brightly in the sunlight, where rain and gray skies had been predicted.…

Condoms, cell phones and bibles. What do these things have in common? Well these were just some of the giveaways at the Yuba College Health Fair held on Thursday April 21. The fair began at 10 a.m. and drew in students, faculty and the community alike. Sunny skies and warm weather broke through after consecutive days of clouds and cool breezes to bring those on the Marysville campus a chance to explore the many health-related booths and colorful displays set up by organizations and businesses in the community.…

Poet Laureate of Lake County, Carolyn Wing Greenlee spoke of the hardships the Chinese endured while migrating to America in the 1900s and of the way that her own family was affected by problems and hostility. Greenlee began her presentation by asking her audience if they knew anything about the Chinese experience in America.…

The Yuba college speech team is riding a wave of success, despite the fact that all of the members on the team began as novice speakers who were taking Professor Suzanne Ruckle's Public Speaking class for their first time. "I recruited the team from my Speech 1 class, where they all started out as novice speakers," said Ruckle.…

The Associated Students of Yuba College had no meeting on Thursday, April 28, due to the scheduled "Spring Slam II," which in turn had to be rescheduled due to unsavory looking weather. "Spring Slam II" was to be a continuation of last year's "Spring Slam," featuring local bands on campus.…
